
Dr. Laurie Carter, LMHC, PhD

Dr. Laurie Carter’s experience as a veteran of the United States Air Force inspired her early work with homeless veterans and veterans struggling with substance use disorders. She received her Master’s in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University in 2014 and Doctoral Degree
of Philosophy in General Psychology in 2021. She is a Dr. of Philosophy in psychology and a Licensed Mental Health counselor specializing in substance use disorders, dual diagnoses, trauma, couples therapy, veterans, and military families. Laurie became a partner of Allies in Wellness in 2021 and is enthusiastic to train the next generation of therapists!

Dr. Carter conducts substance use evaluations, testing, and clinican mental health and personality evaluations. She works from a cognitive behavioral framework and provides supportive and intentional treatment aimed at healing and problem solving. She is passionate about providing quality therapy specific to each client’s needs and goals for treatment.
