Andrea Gorney obtained a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College in 2015 and founded Ti Plant Services, LLC in 2016. Andrea started her work in childhood psychotherapy providing support for children and families within communities struggling with poverty. During her work, she became specialized in Play Therapy and Behavior Therapy. In 2018 she became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. After obtaining her license, Andrea became specialized in Gender Therapy and LGBTQ+ support. Being apart of the LGBTQ+ community, she is specialized in providing support to people questioning their gender identity or sexuality while also providing validation.

Andrea provides a humanistic approach to many of her clients with an eclectic mix between cognitive behavior therapy and narrative therapy. She can provide support and direction for a clients needs while also working through various traumatic situations. Clients work with her based on what their needs and goals for therapy are. For her younger clients, she also works with the parents to provide support. Andrea can meet in an office or through several different online platforms depending on her client needs.

 

Andrea is highly specialized in working with transgender individuals and nonbinary individuals. She has written hundreds of letters regarding gender transition and gender confirmation surgery. Also being apart of the community, she has insight into the expectations and requirements associated with WPATH*, USPATH**, and TPATH***. Many of the patients that work with her feel a lot of validation and support within the gender diverse community.

 

Andrea Gorney is a therapist specialized in working with individuals struggling with gender dysphoria, ADHD, mood disorders, Autism, career direction, and/or socialization issues.

Andrea is contracted with Allies in Wellness and will be accepting clients using Aetna, BCBS / Florida Blue, Aetna Better Health, Cigna, United Healthcare (Oscar, Optum, UMR, UBH), and Sunshine Health Medicaid.
