Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Brianna Doran holds a master’s degree in psychology from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. She works with several populations, and thoroughly enjoys treating children, adolescents, adults, and families. Brianna is passionate about helping individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, or individuals that are currently navigating through a difficult transition. She has specialized training in utilizing play and art therapy techniques, as well as, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, teaching emotion regulation skills, and she is a certified clinical anxiety treatment professional. Brianna also specializes in couples therapy and strives to help couples navigate difficult situations and troubles communicating.
Within the therapeutic setting, Brianna began her career working with “high-risk” children/teens and their families through her work in IICAPS. There, she received specialized training in family systems theory at the Yale Child Study Center in New Haven, CT. From there, she has worked within several different settings helping individuals and families experiencing PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other serious mental health concerns that are preventing emotional well-being and happiness.
Brianna understands the importance of communication and cohesion within the family unit. Her ultimate goal and hope is to help individuals and families move from their current state of tension and disconnect to a peaceful and more cohesive way of living through child/adolescent therapy, family therapy, and couples therapy. Brianna is a collaborative therapist and recognizes that each person is an individual and works collaboratively to design treatment around each person’s specific needs!
Brianna is currently seeing clients both in the office and virtually. Brianna is contracted with Allies in Wellness and is currently available to see new clients. Brianna accepts clients using Sunshine Medicaid, Cigna, Aetna, and self-paying clients.
